Canoeing
If you fancy leaving dry land behind altogether, the Cavan Canoe Centre offers the opportunity to explore the relatively undiscovered Lough Oughter Waterways. Visit Cavan Canoeing.
Boating
Dotted with shimmering lakes and rivers, County Cavan is a genuine boater's paradise. The Rivers Shannon and Erne and the Shannon-Erne Waterway (the canal linking the two) provide hours of boating time through peaceful countryside with many small villages to be visited along the way. Walking
Back on shore, walking enthusiasts can explore a network of trails ranging in length and difficulty in the area. Take in the stunning lake-dotted landscape as you discover the forest walks in Killeshandra or Derrycassin Wood located in Dring. Derrycassin woods covers an area of 179 acres and hugs the shoreline of Lough Gowna. It consists of three recommended walks, the Nature Trail, the Walled Garden Walk and the Main Avenue Walk. Killykeen Forest Park is woven around the waters of Lough Oughter and is popular with anglers, boaters and canoeists. The famous Clough Oughter Castle is visible from the shore of the park.

The Midland Karting & Paintballing
This race track facilitiy consists of 1100 meters of the highest quality asphalt track. Midland Karting probably has the best quality surface in Ireland, and is often regarded as the finest karting track the country has to offer. The track itself is floodlit so guests can enjoy karting throughout the autumn and winter.
The Midland Paintballing site is located in a 20 acre wooded area near Edgeworthstown in Co.Longford. The grounds are also floodlit so the game can be played at night time or throughout the autumn and winter. Visit www.midlandkarting.net
